IS YOUR GUY IN NEED OF A NEW LOOK?

I want to devote today to the men in our lives. Men tend to hold on to same style for a long time. My clients are shoving their husbands in my chair so their guy can be stylish again.  Gentlemen, we need you to look good next us. I tell my husband all the time that he is walking advertisement, so we play around with his hair a lot. One thing I stress (especially to men)
PRODUCT, PRODUCT,PRODUCT!
For some reason guys, especially my husband, ignore this advice and their hair has the product look on top, but the sides and back are flying n-a-t-u-r-a-l. Not good!

Here are the steps to product styling for men ( used for every style)

*Wet hair-apply gel, a strong or firm hold
(Recommendation: BedHead for men POWER PLAY firm finish gel)

        *blow dry on low.
-Long hair, guide the style with your fingers
-Short hair, use your fingers to mess or tousle
(Going against the grain will help you achieve more height)

*Take a wax to form the style you desire.
(I recommend BedHead for men MATTE SEPARATION WORKABLE WAX)

* Finish with a strong hold hairspray, to fight humidity and add shine.
(The best is BedHead for men POWER SURGE stronghold hairspray)

In the last year you have seen certain celebrity men sporting what I call the "sexy business" look, because I think this style looks great in a suit. The first time I fell in love with this look was when Mr. Bradley Cooper showed up in Vegas in an all black suit in the movie HANGOVER. Speaking for all women
"HOLY CRAP!"

What's HOTT right now is the
RETRO "IVY LEAGUE CUT".
check out some of the hotties bangin this look out. I'm obsessed!

This look can be tricky. If your stylist doesn't know what this look is, bring a photo.
*Remember: TIGHT FADE on the sides, LONG on the top, DEEP part. GEL,GEL,& more GEL!

THANKSGIVING is here. A time to be thankful and a time to give.

I love costumes and themes, anything to make the holiday more fun, but who wants to be the relative that shows up to dinner like this....

bahahahahahaha!

Let's be thankful that our stylists don't give us this bold of a look.

If you are pretty easy going and change is something you love to do often, go for a different look for the big holiday.

If you are not good with change, maybe just do a freshen up of the fabulous look you already have. Your family doesn't need you in tears as you are basting the turkey.

A lot of women are wearing their hair medium length - long right now. My clients always ask what are some ways they can put it up or style it for something different. Here are some looks that will give your thanksgiving a confident and glamourous host or guest.

BROWN, RED, GOLDEN RICH HUES, OH MY!

It's that time a year again, when our hair screams PIGMENT!
When asking for lowlights, here are some guidelines:

  • *Bring a photo of lowlight colors you like
  • *Decide if you want chunky ones, medium weaved ones, or very natural(blended) ones
  • *Remeber as your processing and when it is wet, the lowlights will look very dark, wait until it's dry to decide if you like it
  • *You may have to bring out some other colors in your wardrobe, or makeup now that your haircolor is a little deeper.FUN!
  • *Finally hair color does fade, the best results are after a couple washes. It's a good idea to go a shade darker so the color will stay longer.
  • *USE A SHAMPOO & CONDITIONER DESIGNED FOR COLORED HAIR
  • ( I recommend L'Oreal Serie Expert Vitamino Color Shampoo & Conditioner)

The question I get asked the most when my client gets in the chair is " What are the new looks for hair?" and I want to say there is not any new styles, just some recreations of old ones. This is the same with clothes. The styles are just altered to make them a little more modern. 70's hair  makes us think of the classic Farrah Fawcett; Big bouncy curls - lots of vollume - beautiful. We all get in a rut and now its time to get out of it, to try something new, or to get a taste of your youth. Below are images of inspiration from the past and some modern takes on the styles. I will be uploading a video of a how to get the curl styles you see floating around.
